Modus is a centre for children, young people, families and professionals who work with families. It covers the area of Zagreb and Zagreb County. The name Modus was coined for the Center that is the acronym with the following meaning:
M-mladi (the young)
O-obitelj (family)
D-djeca (children)
U (in)
S-središtu naše pozornosti
i rada (the center)
The Center was officially opened to the public on April, 16 2003. The purpose of Modus is to support development of families towards a higher competence and successful dealing with changes within themselves and in the environment. The mission of Modus is to deliver services that help the improvement of relations within families and in the community and, to improve the quality of life of individuals, families and groups.
Strategic goals of Modus are to:
- help the development of abilities and skills of family members to recognize, face and successfully solve life challenges and problems
- expand the existing forms of psychosocial services to the family in the community
- enhance the competence of professionals working with families
- raise the level of public consciousness about the importance of the quality of relationships for the successful functioning of individuals and whole families
- developthe recognizable model of community work with the families.
The goals are being met through different programs of individual and group counselling, therapy and psychosocial treatment, offering constantly new forms of psychosocial services to the family in the community.
The “Modus” staff consists of:
