Society for Psychological Assistance Library was founded in February 1996, as a specialized library covering all aspects of psychology of stress and trauma. It has a stock of more than 1000 volumes, mostly published in English language. The library has also been able to purchase most of the items dealing with the subject of assistance to the war sufferers, which have been published in Croatia during the war.
Library's accessions are classified into 24 reference topics. Although designated to the field of traumatic stress, it provides materials from other fields of psychology, such as counseling and group work, assessment and prevention of psychiatric disorders, psychology of grief and bereavement, developmental psychology, psychology of war, etc. It also holds over 300 articles on these subjects. The Library provides a full range of information services on Croatian and international humanitarian organizations, and programs of psychosocial assistance.
